How Molly Became Our Therapy Dog

Molly, Our Bearded Collie
I live with my family on a farm in western Pennsylvania. We raise registered AKC Great Danes, and although they are show dogs, they are first and foremost, members of our family. We decided to introduce another breed into the family that I could enjoy agility training. We decided on the Bearded Collie breed. At the time we chose our new canine addition, my son was hit by a car and had a fracture of the C-1-2 vertebrae. I was supposed to pick up my new Beardie puppy. Instead of driving to New York and picking her up I flew in, got her, and flew out the same day. Molly then went everyday with me to Harmerville Rehab to work with my son. He made a complete recovery, and I think taking her out for potty walks every couple of hours kept both my son and me sane in that environment. To this day, Molly keeps all of the family members in line! She is a remarkable and loving dog.
