May 17, 2011
Hi

Time to Relax and Rejuvenate

We’re highlighting three relaxation and rejuvenation ways that you can enjoy during this spring season. Spending time out of doors is a calming and relaxing time, and it provides opportunities to clear some of the mental cobwebs that might have developed during the winter. Refresh, relax and rejuvenate. You'll be better for it.

Start-up the Grill

Do You Know the Hand Test? This time-honored method is easier and more reliable than using most grill thermometer. You hold your hand palm down an inch or two above the grate, being careful not to touch it. If you have to pull back in one to two seconds, the fire is very hot. Three seconds indicates medium-high heat, four to five seconds is medium, six seconds is medium-low, and seven seconds or longer is low. This applies to grilling not indoor stove temperatures. The method may not be exact, but it is effective and certainly handy.
As with any type of cooking, gather your supplies before you get started. Once started, grilling goes quickly, so you will be best prepared if everything you need is ready to go. Enjoy the season, relaxing setting, great reading, and stress-free grilling.
